York Road Table Runner

Sew this intricate pattern featured in the The Unofficial Downton Abbey Sews, inspired by the tiling of early twentieth century London Underground stations.

In the early twentieth century, many London Underground stations were tiled with unique patterns to give the stops recognizable identities. York Road Station, open from 1906 though 1918, was decorated with the pattern that inspired this quilted runner, which trades the smoke and soot of the Tube for glamorous silk and beads.
