Viewing & printing digital patterns

Published in About

Downloadable patterns are in PDF format unless otherwise specified. Whatever your operating system, all you need to open these files is the free Adobe Reader. It’s probably already installed on your computer, but if not, click here to get it.

The files are formatted as 8½×11" pages. To print the pattern sheets from Reader, go to File ⇒ Print, then in the Page Handling section set Page Scaling to None, as shown in the screenshot below (from Adobe Reader 8; other versions may look slightly different). This ensures the patterns will print at an accurate size.

[div class="attention" class2="typo-icon"]Check the sizing of the printout by measuring the test square on the pattern sheet—it should measure 1×1".[/div]

Of course, you can print the instruction pages if you want, or you can save some ink by following them on screen. Just choose the pages you want to print in the Print Range section of the same dialog box.

Buying & downloading patterns

Published in About

[div class="cart" class2="typo-icon"]While this website undergoes an upgrade, sales of Feed Dog Designs patterns will be handled by Craftsy. From the pattern’s product page, click the “Buy from Craftsy” button and you’ll be taken to the relevant product page on Craftsy, where you can purchase the pattern for the same price. Direct sales of FDD patterns will be reenabled soon.

Patterns sold by third-party stores, including Sew Daily, will continue to direct transactions to the third-party store as normal.[/div]

All patterns are available as PDF downloads only (unless otherwise specified). Browse the download categories on the left side of the page to choose a pattern. Click the button to add the pattern to your cart. Then you’ll be able to go to your Shopping Cart (click “Show Cart” in the left sidebar) and pay securely via PayPal. Through PayPal, you can pay with a credit card or bank account; you do not need to create a PayPal account to use the service to pay by credit card. Feed Dog Designs does not have access to your financial information and does not record your billing details. All prices are in USD.

When your payment has been confirmed, you’ll receive an e-mail (at the address specified in your PayPal account) with a link to our Downloads Area and a code you will need to paste in to retrieve your file. You’ll have access to this download facility for 5 days, and if something goes wrong, you can download the file up to 3 times.

Patterns sold by third parties

In addition to patterns published by Feed Dog Designs, the shop includes Kevin’s projects that are available from third parties, including Interweave’s Sew Daily Pattern Store and Amazon.com. Instead of an Add to Cart button, these patterns will have a link to the product page on the relevant third-party retailer’s website, where you can purchase the pattern directly. For questions or technical concerns regarding the Sew Daily Pattern Store, please check their FAQ or contact Interweave Customer Service. Feed Dog Designs unfortunately cannot assist with the purchase of products or download of files from third-party stores, nor provide technical support for the purchased patterns.
